If you have already started stocking up on seasonal sweets, check your pantry: candymaker Crystal Temptations has issued a voluntary recall for several packaging styles of its Halloween Chocolatey Eyeballs due to undeclared milk.
According to the official FDA recall announcement, the candy contains whey (milk), but the ingredient was omitted from the allergen statement on the packaging due to a production error. Anyone with a severe dairy allergy or milk sensitivity risks a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if consumed.
No illnesses have been reported to date.

The recalled novelty treats were distributed across 13 states:
- Arizona, California, Connecticut, Georgia, Indiana, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas, Virginia, and Wyoming.

The recall affects five specific packaging configurations sold under the Crystal Temptations brand. Check the label for the following style numbers:
- Style # 54040-CHEY: 10 oz plastic bag with header card
- Style # 54077-CHEY: 7 oz acrylic box with paper wrap
- Style # 58008-CHEY: 10.5 oz round plastic jar
- Style # 58089-CHEY: 16 oz designer plastic pouch bag
- Style # 54083-CHEY: 11 oz plastic bag tied with a tag
What Affected Shoppers Should Do
- Do not eat them: If someone in your household has a milk allergy or sensitivity, dispose of and destroy the candy immediately.
